Resolutions?

By srb518

Every year, people everywhere make a list of things they resolve to change in the upcoming new year.  I am sure there are ways I could become a better person.  But this year, instead of resolving to do anything, I’m just going to do things as I feel it necessary.

And if my habits don’t change, I won’t feel disappointed in myself for failing another resolution.  So the first thing on my list of things to improve myself for 2009?

I do have a short list and they include:

Quit Smoking!

Limit Pepsi Intake!

Make Exercise Priority!

Cut Back on Portions!

I think all of these kind of intertwine.  For instance, exercising requires lots of inhaling an exhaling so to quit smoking will make that easier.  In addition, water is also highly recommended during exercise.

I finished my last pack of cigarettes last night.  Rather than waiting until January 1, I figured I would see how I would do without smoking today.  So far, so good.  I did have a slight craving for a cigarette after lunch, but have found if I wait long enough, the feeling goes away.

As for the Pepsi and the cutting back on portions….perhaps those should be started on a different day.  I had Mexican for lunch today and there really is no good way to cut back on chips and salsa.  Pepsi seemed rather necessary today as well.  But I did hit the gym last night and have every intention of going again tonight.  These things, I realize, can’t all take place overnight.  However, I feel with a bit of determination and a pinch of willpower, these things can become habit-forming for me. And that’s really what feelin’ fine in ‘09 is all about.
